(ĐN) – Some 1,500 people attended a meeting in Trang Bom district to launch Dong Nai Green Week and to respond to World Environment Day 2018 (June 5).
This year’s theme for World Environment Day "Beat Plastic Pollution", calls for departments, sectors, industrial parks and local people to take greater part in environmental protection and awareness-raising campaigns related to the issue.
Addressing at the event, Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh called for locals to say no to single-use plastics and to build green and clean streets.
After the meeting, the participants joined local people in planting trees, walked along main streets to spread their environmental protection message.
Similar activities were also launched in localities across the province in response to World Environment Day.
The Green Week took place between June 5 and 10.
