(ĐN) – Dong Nai province's Elderly People Association has recently held a ceremony to mark the traditional day of the Vietnamese Elderly (June 6) with the attendance of Vice Chairwoman Pham Thi Son of Vietnam Association of the Elderly.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Pham Thi Son highly praised achievements made by Dong Nai Elderly People Association over the past years and hoped that more efforts are needed to take care of and protect the elderly, and promote their roles in society.
She also stressed the necessity to continue implementing social welfare policies for the elderly. Moreover, the association should continue to coordinate with relevant agencies in making laws and policies regarding the care for the elder and the promotion of their roles, and their legitimate rights and interests.
On this occasion, 56 elderly people who are good at doing business have been honored by the provincial People’s Committee and Elderly People Association.
