(ĐN) – Dong Nai Red Cross Association on May 8 launched the Humanitarian Month 2018 with the theme “Humanity - From awareness to action”.

The month-long campaign, running until the end of May 2018, is part of activities to mark the Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8) themed “Everywhere for everyone”.

The month aims to promote humanitarian values, the movement of good deeds, and increase the support for the disadvantaged people in the province. It also aims to raise awareness and practical actions of cadres, Party members and people from all walks of life towards people in difficult circumstances, vulnerable people in community.

During this month, a number of activities will be also held such as blood donation events, free medical check-ups and medicines, programs to raise funds for the poor.

At the launching ceremony, the association raised to build two charity houses worth VND50 million each to poor households in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts, presented 100 gifts valued at VND500,000 each to locals and students with difficult circumstances in Dak Lua commune, Tan Phu district.

On this occasion, the association also started the construction of a bridge in Dak Lua commune with a total cost of more than VND170 million. The bridge is expected to offer conveniences in traveling for the local people.
