(ĐN)- Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front sent best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers on the occasion of the Lord Buddha’s 2562nd birthday.
In the letter to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers, the provincial leaders highlighted great efforts made by Buddhists in implementing the Party and State’s policies, actively getting involved in patriotic emulations movements, contributing to fulfilling the province’s key tasks including building new rural areas and ensuring social security, reducing the rate of poor households and improving living standards of locals.
The provincial leaders also expressed their belief that the Buddhist followers would continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, and make further practical contributions to building a strong great national unity bloc in the process of national construction and defense for the sake of a rich people, a strong country and a fair, democratic and civilized society.
On May 26, Secretary Le Van Danh of Bien Hoa city’s Party Committee and more than 3,000 Buddhist followers attended a ceremony at Phuoc Son Monastery to mark Buddha’s birthday.
On this occasion, Bien Hoa city Buddhist Shangha‘s Executive Board handed VND100 million to the city’s Study Promotion Fund and Phuoc Tan commue’s Fund for the Poor.
At the same day, Gia Lam Thien Sanh pagoda in Bien Hoa city also awarded 230 scholarships, a wheelchair and more than 100 gifts and 180 health insurance cards totaling some VND500 million to local poor residents.
