The deputy director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said the concrete floor failed to meet technical requirements.
The accident took place on the second floor of the construction site. The floor was made on May 11. It was still wet and lacked supporting pillars. Heavy rainfall and strong winds on May 15 shook the floor, collapsing it.
The department is coordinating with the police to investigate the matter and make final conclusions, he added.
At 1.30pm on May 15, a group of seven workers were working at the construction site belonging to Tien Nga Production and Commerce JSC when the concrete floor collapsed. Le Minh Hoang, 43, from Dong Nai Province’s Trang Bom District and Han Minh Huan, 35, from northern Phu Tho Province’s Thanh Soon District died on the spot. Two others were seriously injured and were taken to the provincial hospital for emergency treatment.
