(ĐN) - In the first quarter of this year, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee’s Fund for the Poor raised more than VND323 billion to help local farmers developing production, build charity house, provide financial aids to poor residents, award scholarships to students and present Tet gifts to disadvantaged people.
Chairman Huynh Van Toi of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee called on organizations and individuals to give further support to the campaign of the Day for the Poor and make more contributions to helping the poor escape from poverty.
Between now and the year’s end, the fund will continue raising public awareness about the campaign and social welfare programmes, making it easier for the needy to lift themselves out of poverty.
