(ĐN)- In 2017, Long Thanh district’s Red Cross Chapter raised some VND14 billion to build and upgrade 16 houses for poor households, present 907 scholarships, 470 books and 22 bicycles to studious poor students.
Moreover, the chapter handed over 69 wheelchairs to disabled people and gave thousands of gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor families, AO/dioxin victims, ethnic minority people and disadvantaged children on the occasion of Tet.
In this period, the chapter also provided free medical check-ups and medicines to neary 3,000 needy people, offered free eye surgeries to 91 poor patients, and collected more than 1,600 units of blood.
