(ĐN)- On December 4, Chairman Huynh Van Toi of Dong Nai provincial Fatherland Front Committee presided over a meeting to review activities of Fund for the Poor this year.
In 2017, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee’s Fund for the Poor raised more than VND402 billion to help local poor people, contributing to the provincial program on poverty reduction in the period of 2015-2020.
The money was used to award scholarships, build charity houses and support needy people with capital to help them develop production.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Huynh Van Toi asked agencies to continue efforts to call for donations to provide Tet gifts to policy families and poor households on the occasion of coming Tet holiday.
