The organizers will present the first prize to three designs, including TL3, in the shape of a stylized lotus, of South Korea’s Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd; TL4, using bamboo furniture, of Japan-France joint venture and LT7, in a shape of a stylized coconut leaf, designed by a joint venture of three companies from Singapore, Vietnam and Japan.
ACV said that the three TL03, LT04 and LT07 designs all meet the requirements with high feasibility and could be used in planning feasible study for terminal of Long Thanh International Airport. The first prize winner will receive US$15,000 in bonus.
The Long Thành International Airport project was divided into three stages. At the first stage, a runway and one passenger terminal along other supported works will be built to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo each year. The first phase will be finished by 2025.
At the second stage, one more runway and another passenger terminal will be constructed to serve 50 million passengers and 1.5 million tonnes of cargo a year. After the third phase, the airport will serve 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo each year.
