(ĐN) - On May 19, hundreds of young people joined a tree-planting festival in Nhon Trach district to mark President Ho Chi Minh's 127th birthday and the International Day for Biological Diversity (May 22).
The event was jointly launched by the provincial Youth Union and Department of Natural Resource and Environment.
Addressing the event, Secretary Nguyen Cao Cuong of the provincial Youth Union emphasized the importance of environmental protection, and climate change adaptation and hailed the proactive role of the union in this work.
On this occasion, the union handed over 10,000 trees planted by youths to the localities in the province.
After the launching ceremony, the participants planted 200 trees at Nhon Trach district Martyrs Cemetery.
