(ĐN)- The National Newspaper Festival 2017 themed “Vietnamese press accompanies national renovation” wrapped up in Ha Noi on March 19.
The three-day event, the second version of its kind, drew 470 press agencies across the nation, showcasing 437 types of publications, nearly 100 television programmes screened during the traditional Tet (New Year) holiday, and over 250 articles on environmental issues in 2016.

At the end of the festival, the organizers awarded 35 prizes for “Best covers of New Year’s special editions”; 40 prizes for beautiful exhibition places; 40 prizes for excellent articles on environmental issues in 2016; 19 prizes for television programs screened during the traditional Tet (New Year) holiday; and 10 prizes beautiful covers of online newspapers during the traditional Tet holiday.
Accordingly, Dong Nai Newspaper won three prizes, including one A prize for “Best covers of New Year’s special editions”, one prize for its beautiful cover of online newspaper during the traditional Tet holiday and one consolation prize for its excellent article on environmental issues in 2016.
The festival, which was jointly organized by the Vietnam Journalist Association (VJA), the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Finance and the Hanoi People’s Committee,offered opportunities for journalists from across the country to meet and exchange experience while promoting dialogues among journalists, managers and readers, thus helping improve the role, position and prestige of the VJA.
