(ĐN)- Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of Dong Nai People’s Committee joined in launching the Traffic Safety Year 2017, which focuses on building traffic culture among young people, in a ceremony at the provincial Conference Centre on February 10.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman asked functional agencies and localities to continue efforts to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by traffic accidents by between 5-10 percent this year, lower the number of serious traffic accidents on railways.
She also suggested the localities to speed up the progress of key infrastructure projects, ensure the safety of traffic infrastructure, use advanced technology to control traffic, and adopt synchronous, drastic and effective measures to curb traffic accidents.
At the same day, the Traffic Safety Committees at districts and Long Khanh town also organized a launch ceremony for the 2017 traffic safety year to raise public awareness of safe traffic culture, particularly among young generations.
