(ĐN)- On November 3, Dong Nai’s delegation led by Chairman Huynh Van Toi of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee handed over VND500 million to flood-affected people in Ha Tinh province.
Chairman Tu Van Dien of Ha Tinh province’s Fatherland Front Committee said that the past floods submerged 120 communes and damaged agriculture, transport and irrigation. Huong Khe, Ky Anh and Vu Quang districts have suffered the most severe losses, with an estimated damage of nearly VND1,100 billion. So far, the province has received assistance and commitments from many organizations and individuals nationwide.
Chairman Tu Van Dien thanked Dong Nai's delegation for their visit and pledged that the reception, allocation and use of donated cash and kind would be carried out in an open, transparent manner, aiming to help local people stabilize their daily life and return to production work.
On this occasion, Dong Nai provincial Red Cross Association also presented 400 gifts to flood-hit residents in Duc Tung and Duc Chau communes, Duc Tho district.
The gifts included a box of instant noodle packs, 10 kg of rice, monosodium glutamate and VND500,000 in cash, financed by Cuong Thuan Idico and other sponsors. The delegation donated VND5 million to Duc Tung kindergarten to surmount consequences caused by floods.
