Lac Hong University buys robots for teaching and research

(ĐN)- More than 300 students of Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University on November 14 for the first time contacted and exchanged with advanced Japanese-made Nao robots.

 

(ĐN)- More than 300 students of Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University on November 14 for the first time contacted and exchanged with advanced Japanese-made Nao robots.

Nao is humanoid robot which is applied in many countries all over the world. Nao can identify human face and communicate with people in 21 languages. It can also gesture and express emotions while communicating with people.

In addition, Nao can be applied in teaching foreign languages, replace people to do reception job, contact with patients, etc. Japan has so far sold out 10,000 Nao robots which are mainly used in schools, hospitals, hotels and banks.

According to Lam Thanh Hien, Vice Rector of the university, with the aim to help students access the most advanced robotic technology of Japan, Lac Hong has firstly invested to buy two Nao robots to offer more chances for its students to make robotic programming practices, study foreign languages and communicate with robots.
