The province targets to supply clean water meeting the Health Ministry’s standards to 80 percent of local population by 2020.
According to report from Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, until September, the province put into operation additional five water supply projects in mountainous and remote areas with total capacity of nearly 2,000 cubic meter per day, providing fresh water to more than 18,500 people.
From now until the end of the year, the province will break ground for construction of six other projects with a capacity of over 4,600 cubic metres per day, aiming to bring hygienic water to some 41,000 people in remote areas in Tan Phu, Xuan Loc and Dinh Quan districts.
Recently, Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dowaco) has started construction of a clean water supply system with a capacity of 15,000 cubic metres per day in Vinh Cuu district. Accordingly, locals in the district’s communes of Thien Tan, Thanh Phu, Binh Loi, Binh Hoa, Tan An will benefit from the VND117 billion project that is expected to put into operation in 2017.
Currently, Dong Nai is calling on enterprises to invest in clean water supply projects towards socialization. Particularly, HCM city-based Ka Long Biotechnology Corporation plans to provide VND600 billion to build clean water supply network to bring hygienic water to residents in Bao Hoa commune, Xuan Loc district.
Team CTC Vietnam Environment and Water Technology J.S Company in Bien Hoa city will also invest VND120 billion in building inter-communal clean water supply system in Cam My district.
In the coming time, additional 9 clean water projects with an estimated cost of over VND935 billion will be built in the form of socialization. Most of projects located in mountainous and remote areas of Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc and Cam My district.
