(ĐN)- A meeting was held at Tran Bien Temple of Literature on August 31 to review the activities of 2016 Summer Voluntary Campaign.
The campaign, launched from June 1 until August 31, attracted the participation of some 16,000 local Youth Union members. During the campaign, the volunteers joined hands to build new rural areas, implement urban civilized lifestyle and environmental hygiene, maintain traffic safety and order, etc.
Moreover, the volunteers raised nearly VND1.6 billion to present more than 1,800 gifts, 250 medical boxes, 500 scholarships for studious poor students, 100 beds for preschool students, provide free healthcare to 3,500 people and build 6 charity houses.
The volunteers also organized plentiful and quality summer activities for disadvantaged children, helping them enjoy their summer holidays.
On this occasion, the provincial Youth Union awarded certificates of merit for 54 collectives and 74 individuals for their achievements in the campaign.
