(ĐN)- As of the end of 2015-2016 school year, nearly 219,000 children in Dong Nai have benefited from the school milk program which has been carrying out since 2013 with the purpose of reducing the weight and height malnutrition rates of children in the province.
(ĐN)- As of the end of 2015-2016 school year, nearly 219,000 children in Dong Nai have benefited from the school milk program which has been carrying out since 2013 with the purpose of reducing the weight and height malnutrition rates of children in the province, according to the provincial Department of Education and Training.
The program has been implemented at 974 pre-schools, private nursery classes with nearly 150,000 school kids registered for drinking milk, 311 primary schools with over 54,000 students of grade 1, and 15,000 students of grade 2 in five districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My, Dinh Quan, Tan Phu and Vinh Cuu selected for piloting the program.
The cost of the program is 35 percent from children’s parents. The remaining is funded from the state budget and the milk supplier.
In addition, the program has also been implemented at kindergartens built by enterprises where children are being provided financial support to participte in the program.
This school year, Dong Nai continues to implement the school milk program for all school kids, students of grade 1, grade 2 in the province, as well as students of grade 3 in five districts which are selected for piloting the program.
