VND32.4 billion raised for needy people

(ĐN)- Over the past five years, Long Khanh town's Red Cross Chapter raised VND32.4 billion to help needy people, fulfilling 162.2 percent of the target.

(ĐN)- Over the past five years, Long Khanh town’s Red Cross Chapter raised VND32.4 billion to help needy people, fulfilling 162.2 percent of the target.

Particularly, the chapter has effectively implemented programs namely “Tet for the Poor and AO/dioxin victims”, “Cow Bank”, “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address”, built charity houses, presented scholarships to studious poor students and wheelchairs to disabled people, gave aid to typhoon victims.

In the reviewed period, the chapter joined hands in caring people's health, offered free eye surgeries for 870 local people, mobilized more than 11,000 blood units.

Chairwoman Le Hong Thuy of Long Khanh town’s Red Cross said that the chapter will continue efforts to improve its humanitarian activities and provide better check-ups and medicine to the local people in the coming time.
