(ĐN)- The Ministry of Transport said that it has received the proposal from Dong Nai provincial People's Committee requesting the extension of HCM City's first metro route Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien to 4.7 km to the Vung Tau intersection in Bien Hoa City.
(ĐN)- The Ministry of Transport said that it has received the proposal from Dong Nai provincial People's Committee requesting the extension of HCM City's first metro route Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien to 4.7 km to the Vung Tau intersection in Bien Hoa City.
The move aimed at reduce traffic to HCM city and ease congestion at Eastern gateway of the city as Dong Nai is located next to city’s Eastern gateway which has high traffic flow, along with 30 industrial parks, thus the traffic flow between Dong Nai and the city is high.
Accordingly, the province’s proposal also based on HCM City's transport development plan for the 2020-2030 period approved by the Prime Minister. Eight metro routes will be connected with satellite urban area such as Thu Dau Mot, Bien Hoa, Tan An, etc, including the consideration of the first metro route extension from Suoi Tien Park in District 9 to the Sac Market crossroads in Bien Hoa City in Dong Nai.
