Tree-planting festival launched to mark Uncle Ho's birthday

(ĐN)- Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh of Dong Nai provincial People's Committee launched a tree-planting festival at a ceremony on May 18 in Nhon Trach district to mark the 126th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh.

(ĐN)- Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee launched a tree-planting festival at a ceremony on May 18 in Nhon Trach district to mark the 126th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh.

The tree-planting festival is an annual tradition initiated by the late President Ho Chi Minh in 1959.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman stressed the importance and practical benefits that tree plantation brings to the country, families and everyone, especially in the context of climate change and environmental pollution.

He called on all agencies, enterprises and people to actively join hands in the festival. 

After the launching ceremony, provincial leaders and participants planted 600 trees at Base 696.
