During the Action Month for Food Hygiene and Safety 2016, Dong Nai has formed 187 inspection teams to tour all districts to check food quality and hygiene, especially with regard to the cultivation and trading of vegetables and meat products, said Head of Dong Nai Department of Food Hygiene and Safety Nguyen Van Huu.
Accordingly, 186 breaches of food safety and quality regulations were discovered with the total fine collected worth more than VND100 million.
Particularly, firms were usually fined for operating food service business without proper licences or selling expired foods.
Many firms were also found not providing employees with the full set of hygiene equipment or sufficient training in food safety and hygiene.
