(ĐN)- A conference has been held to set up grassroots trade union of Xuan Loc Garment Joint Stock Company, operating in Xuan Loc district's Xuan Bac commune.
The trade union has 112 members. Xuan Loc Garment JS Company is providing jobs for more than 300 laborers with average monthly income of VND4-5 million. The company specializes in producing jeans for export.
Dong Nai last year established 149 new grassroots trade unions at private and foreign-invested enterprises in the province, bringing the total grassroots trade unions to more than 2,700.
In addition, the province has admitted over 75,400 new trade union members, bringing the total members at private and foreign-invested enterprises to over 600,000. Many grassroots trade unions have enhanced their role in protecting rights and benefits for local workers as well as taking care of spiritual and material lives for their members on the occasion of holidays, Tet, etc.
