The figures saw a year-on-year increase of 40 percent in deaths and 43 percent in injured people, according to the functional agencies.
One of the causes is that employers have not attached proper importance to informing employees sufficiently about labour safety issues as also equipping them accordingly.
Notably, 27 percent of accidents are the result of the workers' neglect of regulated safe working methods.
