The Ministry of Transport has said that it will start building Tan Van-Nhon Trach road linking Ho Chi Minh City up to Dong Nai province by 2017.

The new project plays a significant role in the development of HCMC because it will connect District 9 to Nhon Trach District of Dong Nai, where Nhon Trach industrial park and new urban areas have been developed with cheap housing and land prices suitable with the great majority of workers in District 9.

Tan Van-Nhon Trach road belongs to the Belt Road No.3 project of HCMC, which starts in Nhon Trach and ends in My Phuoc-Tan Van road which is under construction in Binh Duong province.

The Belt Road No.3 project has a total length of 34.28 kilometers comprising the stretch connecting it with Thu Duc intersection.

The ministry plans to give priority to finish the first phase of the Tan Van-Nhon Trach project along 17.8 kilometers to connect Nhon Trach up to Thu Duc intersection.

It will call investment capital for the second phase as soon as possible.
