(ĐN)- Xuan Loc district’s Elderly People Association held a meeting on January 6 to review its activities last year.
In 2015, the association admitted more than 763 new members, bringing the number of its members to more than 14,262.
In this period, the association has cooperated with the district’s Red Cross Chapter to provide free medical check-ups to 4,656 elderly people, mobilized more than VND500 million to present 1,200 Tet gifts to its members and 310 other gifts to studious poor students.
The association also helped its members to access preferential loans to develop production, raised over VND850 million to build rural traffic roads.
On this occasion, the association honored 9 collectives and 7 individuals for their contributions to its activities and handed over the medal “For the cause of the elderly” of Vietnam Association of the Elderly to 15 excellent members.
