(ĐN)- Dong Nai strives to help 100 percent of its rural population accessing hygienic water by the end of 2020, of which 80 percent will use clean water meeting the Health Ministry’s standards.

To achieve this target, the locality plans to inject more than VND3 trillion into building and upgrading 38 clean water supply systems in rural areas.

They will also work to promote the implementation of the program “Rural clean water supply” and the new-style rural building programme among local people.

The funds will also cover the installation of household water filter systems in remote and far-flung areas with contaminated water sources to ensure hygienic water access for all rural residents.

Last year, 93.8 percent of people in Dong Nai’s rural areas gained access to clean water as a result of the program “Rural Clean Water Supply” carried out since 2011.

In 2015, the province spent nearly VN29 billion to build concentrated water supply systems in Trang Bom, Xuan Loc district, Long Khanh town, etc.

Preparations are also being made for the building of two other facilities to provide clean water for residents in Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts.
