(ĐN)- By late June this year, Vietnam Expressway Services Engineering JS Company (VECE), the management unit of the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, will put into trial operation an automatic truck scale system at Long Phuoc Toll Collection Station in HCM city.

The vehicle weighing system made in Switzerland includes four sensor bars installed under the road surface. When trucks run over the system, data about their load will be analyzed and those overloaded can be instantly detected. Cameras have been installed at the toll station will capture the registered plate numbers of these vehicles.

This scale will work better than the current weigh bridges used by traffic authorities thanks to its sensor bars and its function is not affected by temperatures and humidity.

According to VECE, data about all trucks will be collected before they enter the expressway and sent to competent authorities. Those found to carry more weight than permitted will be stopped before rolling into the expressway.
