(ĐN)- Dinh Quan district’s authorities has mobilised local forces to help people overcome the consequences of whirlwinds that occurred on late April 21.
Initial statistics show that 37 houses along with nearly 5,000 rubber trees were damaged by a whirlwind in the locality.
The district People’s Committee has offered VND60 million as support to more than 30 affected households. Accordingly, the district provided VND6 million to each household with home completely collapsed and VND3 million to damaged houses.
Thong Nhat district was the hardest hit, with some 100 houses, farms and hundreds of hectares of crops damaged. Total losses were estimated at around VND 2 billion.
The strong winds were also responsible for destroying hundreds of hectares of banana in Thanh Binh commune, Trang Bom district.
The districts’ authorities have outlined support plans for the local people.
