On April 9th, on his way home, he found a handbag containing clothes and personal papers of a man named Le Doan He in Loc Ha district of Ha Tinh province, a gold necklace, a “To Quoc Ghi Cong” (The Fatherland's Acknowledgement of Contribution) certificate, and a letter by the Loc Ha district’s Office of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to introduce He to visit the tomb of his brother Le Doan Hao, sacrificed on May 10th 1075, at the Trang Bom martyrs’ cemetery in Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province.
Immediately, he told his son to rush to the Trang Bom martyrs’ cemetery but the cemetery’s manager said that He had left for a while.
The officer contacted the handbag’s owner under the address on the letter.
On April 11th, he met with and handed over the lost property to its owner.
Mr. He was very touched and shared that he intended to visit his brother’s tomb and then present the necklace to his daughter at her wedding.
The officer’s deed beautified the virtue of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
