Accordingly, the PM has assigned the Party committee at the Ministry of Transport to bring the project to the Politburo to seek permission to proceed with the implementation of the multi-billion-dollar project.
The PM passed an investment report on the Long Thanh project as requested by the Party committee at the Ministry of Transport, and assigned the Party head at the Ministry of Transport to act on behalf of the Party chief of the Government to report the Long Thanh airport project to the Politburo, asking for approval for the investment in phase one of the project.
Earlier, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang presented an updated report of the Long Thanh airport at the 35th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee last month.
According to the latest report, the project’s total investment cost is estimated at US$15.8 billion, US$2.9 billion lower than the initial projection.
