Over 100 Vietnamese living overseas gathered in Tran Bien Temple of Literature on the occasion of the traditional New Year.

The event takes place every year to welcome those returning home for the country's biggest holiday.

At the gathering, Chairman Vy Van Vu of the provincial Fatherland Front praised contributions made by overseas Vietnamese to provincial development and integration, saying they serve a symbolic bridge connecting Dong Nai and the world in culture and trade. He also hoped that overseas Vietnamese would continue contributing to the national construction and development cause and acting as a bridge to boost the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.

Dong Nai has more than 32,000 people living and working in countries and territories over the world. Over 6,000 of them returned home during this Tet festival.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Phu Cuong of the provincial People’s Committee said that Dong Nai will continue to advance its policies and devised incentives to encourage overseas Vietnamese expats to return home and work in the coming time.
