The solutions focus on increasing the local authorities and relevant agencies’ organisation and operation of traffic safety and order, raising people’s awareness on traffic rules, and improving infrastructure.

In 2014, the city’s police have handled some 75,000 traffic violations and collected fines of nearly VND31.8 billion, according to the provincial Committee for Traffic Safety. The violations included predominantly speeding, driving in the wrong lane, and people driving under the influence of alcohol.

In order to help curb traffic violations and road accidents, traffic police in Dong Nai province have spent VND92 billion on installing traffic cameras in Bien Hoa city.

As many as 58 cameras have been installed at 25 points along crowded road junctions in the city to help police maintain better control over traffic flows and impose fines for violations.

Thanks to cameras, the city’s traffic police handled 9,500 out of over 10,000 traffic violations and collected fines of more than VND3 billion.

In the coming time, the sector will continue to cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to maintain media campaigns to disseminate information on traffic safety and order to people, as well as regularly carried out patrols on highways in the city. The province is also going to implement effective measures to reduce the number of traffic accidents.
