(ĐN)- Phu Ly commune has more than 3,700 households with around 14,000 residents. It is now home to 63 poor households, 39 of them can't get out of poverty because of their inability to work.

(ĐN)- Phu Ly commune has more than 3,700 households with around 14,000 residents. It is now home to 63 poor households, 39 of them can’t get out of poverty because of their inability to work.

Since the beginning of the year, the locality raised some VND3 billion to build public projects and houses for difficult locals.

Secretary Pham Thanh Chuong of Phu Ly commune’s Party Committee said that over the past time, local authorities has made utmost efforts to allocate land for households who have no land for house building. Accordingly, a 2,700 sq.m area was chosen to construct charity houses for families with difficulties in housing. From the beginning of the year until now, the commune People’s Committee handed over 20 houses worth VND35 million each to poor beneficiaries, helped them gain access to power and clean water.

In the coming time, the authorities will continue to raise fund to build charity houses, ensure the necessary conditions for poor households to escape poverty.
