(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation on June 13 held a meeting to review the implementation of the blood donation campaign during 2003-2013.
The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh and Deputy Head of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Dang Manh Trung.

Launched in 2003, the province’s blood donation events have collected 140,500 units of blood, meeting 90% of the demand for blood from local hospitals. Accordingly, this has helped to save thousands of lives.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh praised efforts made by the provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and called on the local organizations and people to take an active part in blood donation campaigns.
On this occasion, Viet Nam Red Cross presented the “For the Cause of Red Cross” insignias to 9 outstanding individuals, awarded certificates of merit to 17 collectives and 29 individuals for their achievements in local voluntary blood donation campaigns over the last decade. In addition, 99 other groups and 104 individuals were also honored by Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee.
