(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s Red Cross Association on April 22 held a meeting to review the financial support for poor households after 13 years of implementation, and a traditional get-together to mark the 39th anniversary of its foundation.

Since 2001, the association has provided no-interest loans totaling more than VND1.6 billion to 510 poor households, disabled people and AO/Dioxin victims to develop their breeding.
In addition, there were three Red Cross chapters which deploy the program to offer financial support for local households to develop animal husbandry with the total loans of over VND615 million.
So far, 50% of the households has developed their production and escaped the poverty.
On this occasion, Central Red Cross Association presented emulation flags to two collectives and 45 individuals for their active contributions in humanitarian activities.
The Provincial People’s Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 14 outstanding collectives, 45 individuals for their active contributions in humanitarian activities and 11 families for their performance in using the loan effective to develop their household economic.
