Particularly, 30 students from the province, who were divided into six teams, excellently scored one special, three first, seven second, five third and ten consolation prizes to rank first at the event.
Dak Lak province ranked second at the contest, followed by Da Nang city.
The annual competition, which was held by the Ministry of Education and Training, drew the participation of 330 pupils from five Central Highland provinces and eight others from Thua Thien-Hue to Dong Nai.
The exam is aimed at encouraging pupils’ passion for learning and at finding young talent so that they can exchange their experiences and learn about new science and technology.
Competitors had to take a test on theory and do the practical, which lasted for 150 minutes. They had to solve ten problems on a Casio calculator.
Kon Tum was one of the four localities along with Tuyen Quang, Ha tinh and Soc trang selected by MoET to organize the contest with the attendance of 1,390 pupils from provinces and cities nationwide.
