The event was held by Dong Nai province’s Youth Union, Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Dong Nai Power Company with the attendance of Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh of the provincial People’s Committee, leaders of the province’s departments and sectors, and more than 2,000 youth members.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh stressed that Dong Nai is an industrial province, thus the province has a big demand of energy for production. He also called upon youth members and people to join efforts to protect the environment as well as the natural resources.

At 8.30pm, lights at the school were switched off to respond to the Earth Hour.
Earlier, many cultural activities and art performances were also held to mark the event, and 200 young people cycled through the main roads in Bien Hoa city to call upon local people to respond the Earth Hour

Earth Hour, launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in 2007, is observed on the third Saturday of March every year from 20.30 to 21.30pm. It has been responded by 150 countries and territories worldwide.
