The high school students will be tested in four subjects, including the two compulsory subjects of mathematics and literature. A foreign language will account for one of two elective subjects.
Notably, the MoET plans to remove the regulation exempting the top quintile of students in each locality from taking the exam this year.
Each test will include basic questions to properly and comprehensively assess the students’ capabilities and advanced part to classify students. The graduation mark of each student will depend on the average marks on the four subjects and the average marks in the 12th grade.
This year’s university and college examination will feature two key changes, most notably that universities and colleges can organise their own exams if they receive approval.
An advisory council will help the MoET issue criteria to define the quality of candidates in addition to the only criterion of floor marks used in previous years.
