(ĐN)- Over the past five years, the campaign entitled “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address” launched by Vinh Cuu district’s Red Cross Chapter received a positive response from organizations and individuals to help local families with especially difficult situations.
Accordingly, the chapter has raised more than VND3.6 billion to provide allowance and support for 1,600 humanitarian addresses, help them to escape the poverty. Moreover, the chapter has also built and repaired 296 houses. In 2014, the chapter will strive to mobilize more than VND6 billion for humanitarian activities.
Also in 2013, Trang Bom district’s Red Cross Chapter mobilized over VND4.1 billion and more than 1,300 working days from their members to help the local poor people.
Particularly, the chapter has launched programs to provide free medical check-ups and medicine for 56,000 people, collected 2,073 blood units, built 6 charity houses worth VND225 million, presented 3,400 gifts to local families with especially difficult situations.
