Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee and more than 300 representatives of Viet Nam's city and town governments, national and international development agencies and the business sector attended the event.
According to ACVN, the association will focus on opponent activities related to the urban polices and laws, coordinate with ministries and sectors to hold seminars to collect ideas from the experts for the suitable polices and laws related to the country’s urban areas.
ACVN will continue to deploy emulation movements on making the urban areas greener, cleaner and more beautiful and green development strategy to mark the Vietnam’s Urban Day.
Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Pleiku and Tra Vinh cities will join Municipal Partners for Economic Development (MEPD) project, bringing the total members of the project to seven.
ACVN will also enhance international cooperation to gain experience in management and development urban areas.
On this occasion, ACVN awarded 20 cities for their outstanding achievements in emulation movements on making the urban areas green, clean and beautiful. Bien Hoa is among the awardees.
As end of 2013, ACVN has increased its members to 103. The 2014 ACVN conference will be held in Lao Cai city.
