Pole dancing in MTM Bar

Over the past three years, many bars opened in Dong Nai province.

While they call themselves restaurants, in reality they do not have valid business licenses. Many of them are alleged to offer customers various kinds of services, from illicit adult entertainment to illegal drugs.

"Bars that don't have sexy servers or dance acts are bound to go out of business," a senior manager of a bar in Bien Hoa city said.

Details of the dancing performances at most of the bars are kept secret, only advertised by text messages sent to regular customers.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has vowed to cooperate with the Division of Administration on Social Security and Department of Planning and Investment to carry out an inspection campaign to check out the activities of local bars and restaurants, revoking the licenses of any place of business found to be in violation of the law.

Any billboard advertisements that even contain the word "bar" will be removed.
