(ĐN)- Flash flood caused by torrential rain in Long Thanh district caused heavy damages of property to people in the locality, killed one people and injured another.
The hardest hit commune was Loc An with more than 300 houses were submerged under 2.5 metres of water.
The district’s Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control mobilised more than 100 soldiers and policemen to urgently evacuate local people from dangerous areas to safer places.
The committee has instructed authorities to calculate the damage caused by the flood in terms of human and material loss.
Local authorities donated VND5.5 million to the family of the dead man.
