(ĐN)- The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) on May 17 held a ceremony to present the second Nguyen Duc Canh Awards to139 outstanding workers nationwide.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chairman Dang Ngoc Tung of the VGCL.
Of the honorees, two workers came from Dong Nai province. They are Thu Dinh Dung and Hoang Van Cuong, who are working at Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (Dofico).
The prestigious Nguyen Duc Canh awards was established by the VGCL and are held every five years aiming to encourage workers who gain many achievements in the patriotic emulation movements and significantly contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
Nguyen Duc Canh (February 2, 1908 – July 31, 1932) was a Vietnamese patriotic revolutionary activist and also one of the outstanding leaders of the Vietnamese working class.
