Participants in the trans-Vietnam cycling program for Agent Orange (AO) victims started the 28.6km cycle run from Nha Rong Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City to Bien Hoa city in Dong Nai province, the shortest part of the race, on November 1.
During the 1,800 km long event, cyclists will pass through 19 provinces and cities along National Highway No1 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi.
The program is jointly organized by the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) and Korea’s Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), from November 1 to 26 to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic, promote friendship and understanding of the two countries, raise people’s awareness of the consequences of Agent Orange/Dioxin, and call for more community support for Agent Orange victims.
The closing ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV3 on November 26.
