(ĐN)- Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Nguyen Hong Ly on Tuesday had a working session with Dong Nai provincial Farmers’ Association to review its activities in the first nine months.
Since the beginning of the year, the association has admitted nearly 9,000 new members, bringing its total members to more than 222,000.
In this period, more than 132,000 local farmer households have registered to participate in the emulation movements of good production and business.
The province’s farmers also contributed more than VND40 billion and over 33,000 work days to upgrade rural traffic roads, dredged canals, build charity houses and provide preferential loans to poor farmer households.
At the working session, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hong Ly stressed the need to improve the operation quality the association and suggested that the association should continue its efforts to overcome difficulties and co-ordinate with the related sectors to fulfill the targets set in 2012.
