(ĐN)- A ceremony was held in Dong Nai on October 18 to mark the 82th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (Oct 20).
The event was attended by Ms. Bui Ngoc Thanh, Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Over the past ten months, Dong Nai Women’s Union raised approximately VND3.7 billion from organizations, individuals and enterprises to build 79 houses for poor members and award 858 scholarships to disadvantaged students.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Bui Ngoc Thanh highly appreciated efforts made by the union’s members in the past time and hoped that the women will continue to promote a dynamic and creative role, uphold their fine tradition of heroism, indomitable spirit, loyalty and responsibility to make a positive contribution to local socio-economic development.
At the ceremony, 21 collectives and 17 individuals received certificates of merit of People’s Committee and the Union for their contributions.
