Sri Lanka supports Vietnamese AO victims

The Sri Lanka-Vietnam Friendship Foundation has launched a program to raise funds to buy medicines and wheelchairs for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin.

The Sri Lanka-Vietnam Friendship Foundation has launched a program to raise funds to buy medicines and wheelchairs for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin.

Speaking at the launching ceremony in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo on September 19, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, the foundation’s Vice Chairman, stated that the event was a declaration of solidarity towards the Vietnamese people.

He called on Sri Lankan people to do all they could to help Vietnamese victims.

Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh thanked Sri Lanka for supporting Vietnam during its revolutionary struggles in the past as well as in its current process of socio-economic development and especially for the country’s AO victims who still need support from the international community.
