(ĐN)- Over the first six months of the year, Dong Nai province’s Red Cross Association has raised more than VND34 trillion for charity activities.
The money was used to build 82 charity houses for households with difficult circumstances, give 84,900 gifts to poor policy beneficiaries, present 70 wheelchairs for disabled people, provide free eye surgeries and medical check-ups to 865 needy people.
In this period, the association mobilized and collected 13,783 blood units from local donors. Besides, the campaign entitled “Each organization, each individual associated with one humanitarian address” launched by the association received a positive response from 613 organizations and individuals to help 1,749 local families with especially difficult situations.
