Efforts needed to care for elderly people

(ĐN)- On July 13, a delegation from National Committee for the Elderly led by Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Tran Duc Lai had a working session with Dong Nai on implementing the state policy for the elderly.

Dong Nai is currently home to nearly 15,000 elderly people, making up over 7 percent of the province’s total population. Until known, 100% of poor elderly people received free healthcare and monthly allowances.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister highly appreciated efforts made by the province’s authorities in taking care of elderly people. He stressed that the province should continue to launch many useful and practical activities suitable for elderly people, help them play their to strengths to enjoy a better life.
