(ĐN)- Various activities were held across the province on June 5 to mark World Environment Day 2012.
In Long Khanh town’s Xuan Lap commune, local people and youth members had planted 300 trees, collected garbage and cleaned up the environment.
In Bien Hoa city, more 500 state employees in Trung Dung, Thanh Binh, Hoa Binh and Quyet Thang wards were trained how to classify garbage.
Many activities such as tree planting and environment cleaning campaigns drew a large number of students in Nguyen Hue University.
This year’s theme for World Environment Day “The Green Economy: Does it include you?” calls on individuals and organisations to join efforts in building a new model of economic growth.
World Environment Day (June 5) is launched annually by the United Nations to preserve the pure environment for the sake of humanity.
